Privacy

• Audio is recorded only between start and stop, into ~/Library/Application Support/EchoPad/Library and, if you choose, your save location.
• Transcription and speaker detection run on your Mac, on the Neural Engine, through FluidAudio.
• Network: the only requests download the speech and speaker models from Hugging Face during setup. After that EchoPad works offline.
• No analytics, crash reporting or account. The source is open, so you can check.

Laws on recording conversations differ by country and state. Many require everyone’s consent. Tell people you are recording; EchoPad does not do it for you, because it never joins the call.
